VDI Consultant / Desktop Virtualization Engineer

The Desktop Virtualization Consultant is a hands-on Computing Specialist with significant experience in the integration, and deployment of VDI infrastructure. 

In other words, this person will be skilled in all phases of developing and delivering the benefits of virtualization and higher-order abstraction (compute, storage, network, and management) in customer environments, and is fluent in disseminating that information to a given audience. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person and virtual enablement on current and emerging solutions and services offerings for Field and Partner Organizations

• Develop solution labs and toolkits, best practices & architectural references for developing and deploying VDI solution – building product integrations to aid solution demonstration and selling

• Expert technical assistance for field and partner engagements in managing or consulting on vmCUBE focus areas regarding initial implementations for emerging solutions offerings

 

Must have skills:

• Bachelor Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent

• Adaptable personality, capable of learning new technologies

• Knowledge of servers and compute resources

• Knowledge of Networking and Storage concepts and features.

• 2 years in VMware vSphere Infrastructure

• 4 years working on Windows desktop such as Windows 7 and 10

• 4 years in Desktop Virtualization such as Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Microsoft Remote Services or VMware Horizon.

• Knowledge of User Profile Management tools such as RES, AppSense, VMware UEM ... 

• Advanced Linux and Windows OS.

 

Preferred Skills:

• VMware Horizon View Suite implementation and design skills  

• Microsoft Windows skills
